Examples of recent corpus-based/corpus-informed ELT grammar textbooks will be presented in order to show how corpus research has concretely informed pedagogy (examples will be taken from very recent grammar books, such as the new ‘Grammar and Beyond’ series published in 2012).
The reception of such new materials will then be examined, with a focus on pre- and in-service teachers’ attitudes towards corpus use in language teaching. Teachers’ emergent attitudes towards corpus-informed ESL/EFL grammar teaching will be presented; the factors that contribute to both negative and positive attitudes will also be addressed.
